After holding an encouraging and constructive meeting with the  International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) chief Gianni Infantino for Indian football's development, All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran discussed a strategic alliance with  the Qatar Football Association (QFA).

For the mutual benefit of football in both India and Qatar, AIFF top two officials held a meeting with QFA President Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Senior Board Members and General Secretary Mr. Mansoor Al-Ansari in Doha on Sunday.

After the meeting, it was decided that the AIFF will  sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the QFA.  AIFF chief Kalyan Chaubey stated, “I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the QFA President for his valuable time to discuss collaboration possibilities between India and Qatar. I am sure this would be beneficial to both countries in the long run."

Earlier, the AIFF said in a statement, "They (Chaubey and Shaji) had an encouraging and constructive meeting with the FIFA President on the future development of Indian football. Discussions were held on key aspects of development of Indian football, and areas that require priority focus."
