Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been worst hit with injuries ahead of the upcoming 2025 edition. With the tournament just three days away from start, LSG has been struggling to get their pace strength fit as they have been racing against time over their fitness.
While Mayank Yadav is expected to join the LSG squad by second week of April, there are concerns over the fitness of Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan. It is to be noted that Lucknow-based franchise retained five players from their IPL 2024 squad. While Nicholas Pooran was retained for INR 21 Cr, Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav were retained for a sum of INR 11 Crore. Pacer Mohsin Khan and youngster Ayush Badoni were secured for INR 4 Crore.
Akash Deep racing against time to get fit for IPL 2025: Reports
A report in Times of India (TOI) reported that Akash Deep is dealing with an issue and isn’t likely to get clearance anytime soon from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Centre of Excellence. Moreover, it is said that the right-arm pacer sustained an injury during BGT 2024-25 and also missed the fifth Test.
In the IPL 2025 mega auction, LSG acquired the services of Akash Deep for INR 8 Crore after the pacer registered in the INR 1 Crore price bracket. His absence comes a massive blow for the side, seeing how many pacers could finally be available for the side in their opening game, which is scheduled to be held on March 24 against Delhi Capitals.
