In a thrilling and feisty encounter of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which took place at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, the Saudi giants Al Hilal clinched 4-3 victory against one of the favourites to win the tournament Manchester City by scoring in the dying minutes of the game to progress in the knockout stages. Man City were left in shambles after they were knocked out of the tournament despite their best efforts to qualify into the last 8. The brace from the Brazilian Marcos Leonardo turned out to be the point of difference between both the sides.
The Saudi side went all guns blazing and fought till the last minute of the match. City manager, Pep Guardiola was left in disbelief knowing that his side were eliminated from the tournament. The Saudi Pro league runners-up Al Hilal will have to reckon with the forces of the Brazilian powerhouse Fluminense in the last 8 of the Club World Cup. This turn of events happened after Fluminense managed to defeat the Champions League finalists Inter Milan which shocked the entire world as Inter Milan were the favourites to win the match and progress into the next stages of the tournament. This Brazilian flair from the Fluminense team was inspired by the masterclass performance of the Brazilian maestro Thiago Silva, who displayed a marvelous performance from the back guiding his team to victory and leading the side closer to lifting the European silverware.
This encounter between the underdogs of the Club World Cup will be played at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Saturday, 5th July from 12:30 am (IST). It will be interesting to see which of these sides will emerge victorious and progress into the semi-finals of the tournament.
