Formula One Team Alfa Romeo will sport a special vehicle throughout the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend to celebrate the launch of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale in the brand’s European showrooms. The special livery will have the Italian tricolor as well. The team made the announcement on Thursday evening.

“We are sporting a new look for the #AzerbaijanGP to celebrate the launch of the new @alfa_romeo Tonale in the main European showrooms! Bringing some green into our weekend!” read the tweet from Alfa Romeo. “This hue recalls the Montreal Green from the @alfa_romeo Tonale launch, but it is also a nod to the Italian flag and the brand’s heritage. Green is also the way to go for Alfa Romeo’s first electrified C-SUV!” it added.

The new Alfa Romeo Tonale will make its much-anticipated arrival in the carmaker’s main European showrooms starting this weekend, calling all members of the Alfisti tribe to experience the brand’s first electrified C-SUV. So, to mark this important step in Alfa Romeo’s metamorphosis towards a new era of connectivity and electrification, and to reinforce the brand’s link to its noble sporting heritage.

The Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42s of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will sport a special livery with a full-green engine cover featuring Tonale’s signature headlights shape.

The colour green is a nod to the Montreal Green hue used in Tonale’s launch, but also a strong link to Alfa Romeo’s identity for the transition to a more responsible and sustainable concept of mobility, while remaining faithful to its sportiness, driving dynamics, and premium quality.

The new livery, designed by Alfa Romeo’s own Centro Stile, is of course also a tribute to the Italian flag and another step in the cementing of the strong links between the legendary automotive brand and the Sauber Group, a deep cooperation bringing together two historical brands and leveraging thirty years of Formula One know-how to create new strategic strengths.

Fans can enjoy too!

Notably, the new design of the C42, to be used throughout the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, will be accessible to all fans through an exclusive augmented reality experience provided by team partners JigSpace. They will have to scan a QR code made available by the stakeholders to enjoy the immersive 3-D experience.

The main race of Azerbaijan GP takes place on 12 June from 4:30 to 6:30 PM IST.
