Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are known to share a great bond as the duo played alongside for more than a decade at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Time and again, they have openly talked about their brotherhood and how they share huge mutual respect. An example for the same came up once again when Virat Kohli shared a special message for AB de Villiers on his 38th birthday.

Kohli shared a post with a beautiful caption, wishing 'lots of love' to De Villiers who turned 38 on 17 February. Sharing a candid picture with the South African legend, Kohli wrote: “Happy birthday biscuit, lots of love to you always my brother.”

I'll always be your number one fan: Virat Kohli

This is not the first instance Kohli has openly called out his love for his 'brother from another mother'. When de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, Kohli shared an emotional post with a big caption. The former RCB captain acknowledged de Villiers' contribution towards the franchise and promised that he will be his number one fan.

"You've given everything to RCB and I know that in my heart. What you mean to this franchise and to me cannot be put into words. The Chinnaswamy Stadium will miss cheering for you and I'm going to miss playing alongside you my brother. I love you and I'll always be your number 1 fan. G.O.A.T @abdevilliers17," Kohli had written for ABD.

De Villiers to join RCB again?

While the playing days for AB de Villiers are certainly over, he still has a lot to contribute to the game. Having dominated world cricket for so long, de Villiers understands the game better than anyone else. The Proteas legend himself is aware of the fact and shared his future plans recently. He accepted that he has a role to play in South Africa cricket as well as in RCB.

“I still believe that I have a role to play in SA cricket and also over there in the IPL with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB),” he was quoted as saying by ‘Times LIVE’ a few weeks ago.

“I have no idea what will come next but I will take it one day at a time and see. No one knows about it and hopefully, I can look back one day in the future knowing that I have made a big difference in the lives of a few players. That is my focus for now and I don’t know if it’s going to be professional or on a casual basis, but we will see where we go with that,” he had added.
