Ambati Rayudu announced retirement from the Indian Premier League on Saturday afternoon via a tweet. However, the 36-year-old later went on to delete his announcement. Rayudu had thanked Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings for playing a part in his journey and said that he had a wonderful playing IPL for two franchises for 13 years.

"I want more IPL titles. I won five IPL and two Champions League trophies. Hopefully, by the time I end my career, I would love to win two or more IPL trophies," Rayudu had told Telangana Today before the start of the season also hoping that he would end up with CSK after he was not retained by the franchise.

While he did end up being bought by Chennai at the Mega Auction, Chennai are not going to the Playoffs this season and if this indeed happens to be Rayudu's last IPL, he won't be able to make any more addition to his trophy cabinet.
