Ambati Rayudu is all set for a second stint with Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) as the 36-year-old will play for the domestic team in the upcoming season. Rayudu has obtained the No-Objection Certificate from his previous domestic board Andhra Cricket Association. He will be available for Baroda for all three formats despite the fact that he had limited himself to white-ball cricket since November 2017.

The 36-year-old cricketer will reunite with Baroda having already played for them from 2012 to 2014. Interestingly, Ambati Rayudu has represented as many as four domestic teams so far in his career. He has represented Baroda, Andhra, Hyderabad, and Vidarbha. Rayudu joins Baroda with loads of experience in his bag.

The veteran Indian cricketer has an experience of 97 first-class matches, 172 List A games, and 269 T20s. He has scored a combined 17393 runs across formats including 22 centuries and 104 half-centuries. Ambati Rayudu has also represented India in 65 ODIs and six T20Is. The right-handed batter has aggregated over 1700 runs across the two formats.

BCA convincing Deepak Hooda to return to Baroda

Apart from Ambati Rayudu, the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) is in talks with Deepak Hooda for his comeback to the domestic side. Notably, Hooda had moved from Baroda to Rajasthan after a feud with teammate Krunal Pandya. However, the two players seem to have come to a settlement as they represented the same team (Lucknow Super Giants) in IPL 2022.

BCA chief executive Shishir Hattangadi also believes that the two individuals have sorted their issues and they are trying hard to bring Hooda back to Baroda. “As far as I know, they get along as well as they did earlier. They have cleared their differences. They played and excelled together for the same IPL team. They have sorted whatever issues they have," Hattangadi said.

“While we are hopeful of Hooda’s return, we can’t say for sure, because from a cricketing perspective, it was Rajasthan who opened their doors for him when he needed a team. From our side, we’re making an effort. We’ll have to wait for a final call,” he added.
