Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte expressed frustrations about Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann’s comments on striker Harry Kane. Conte feels that one coach shouldn’t be on another team’s players and was confused with the intentions of his German competitor.

“Honestly, I did not hear this. For sure I am a coach that does not speak about other players at other teams. I don’t know why (Nagelsmann spoke about Kane). The situation with Tottenham is very clear, the plan is very clear with the club. He is a part of the project, an important part of the project”, Conte said.

Conte then addressed how he wouldn’t do such a thing and deemed this practice - ‘disrespectful.’ He said, “At the same time, I don’t like to speak about the players of other clubs. If I want to do something I go and I speak with the club and don’t go through the media. Maybe it is a bit disrespectful of the other club. This is my way of dealing with the situation with other players.”

What did Nagelsmann say?

While speaking ahead of Bayern Munich's pre-season friendly against Manchester City, head coach Nagelsmann praised the England captain but addressed that it would be extremely difficult to bring him to the Bundesliga.

"He's very expensive, that's the problem – but [a] brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] number 10," he said. "He's very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet. It's possible that he would score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga. But it will be tough, I think, for Bayern Munich. We will see what will happen in the future."

Sure, [he's] an absolute top striker, but that's all a dream of the future: Kahn

Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn also refuted that Munich is interested in bringing in Harry Kane during this transfer window but refused to rule out a move for the 28-year-old in the future. "He's under contract with Tottenham. Sure, [he's] an absolute top striker, but that's all a dream of the future. Now, we have to look at getting the squad together for the current season. Let's see what else happens", Kahn stated.
