On Monday, April 21, the table-toppers and IPL 2022 winners, Gujarat Titans (GT) took on the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in match number 39 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. However, both teams entered this fixture on the back of contrasting results, GT reigned supreme as they defeated the Ajinkya Rahane-led side by 39 runs.
However, the result might not have gone well for the home side, but in the match, what caught the eyeballs was Danny Morrison’s awkward question to GT skipper Shubman Gill. The former New Zealand cricketer turned sports presentator cum commentator playfully teased Gill by putting up a question on his personal life.

Speaking at the toss after KKR elected to field first, Morrison asked Gill with a grin, “You're looking good, wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon?” While this came as a surprise for the Indian cricketer as well, he looked a bit uncomfortable, but brushed off with a smile, stating, “No, nothing like that.”
The GT skipper laughed off nervously, but this light-hearted moment drew chuckles from the spectators as well and added a flair to the match. However, before Morrison put up the wedding bells question, he complimented the GT skipper on his appearance which also left him blushing.
In the match against KKR, Shubman Gill’s 90 off 55 proved to be a game-changer, along with crucial contributions from Sai Sudharsan (52 off 36) and Jos Buttler (41* off 23) as the side defended the 198-run target by restricting the hosts to 159/8 in 20 overs. With the win, GT consolidated their place at the top of the table and will next take on Rajasthan Royals in a return fixture, scheduled to be played on April 28.
