
Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL. They have won the IPL trophy five times and are one of the most consistent teams. Chennai Super Kings are also amongst those teams which have a record of making it to the playoffs on most occasions. However, in the previous edition they had a really bad time as they finished at the bottom of the table for the first time in the history of IPL. Chennai Super Kings were hit by injuries and lack of form of players and that hurt them in the first half of the season.
They gave debuts to plenty of youngsters in the second half of IPL 2025 and did comparatively well. This sets them up nicely ahead of IPL 2026. Chennai Super Kings have also done plenty of work in the auction to secure some strong players. They will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and he will hope that the Men in Yellow have a good season.
One of the biggest talking points was the trade of Sanju Samson with Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. While they do get the experience of Sanju Samson at the top of the order along with another wicket-keeping option, they have lost one of their main spinners in Jadeja. Chennai Super Kings has been the home for Jadeja and he has been at his best helping the franchise reach greater heights.

Chennai Super Kings have a very solid group of players. Two of their biggest purchases in the auction were uncapped players with the likes of Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma. The team management is the same and they know the blueprint of success. One thing we all can expect from the Chennai Super Kings side is the consistency. Whenever Chennai Super Kings have had a bad season, they have often bounced back and excelled in the next year. The IPL is set to begin on March 28 and the players will be in action in a few weeks time.
