Paris Saint Germain star Lionel Messi was mobbed by fans as he tried exiting a restaurant in Buenos Aires. Messi has a massive fan following across the globe and but in his home country, the seven-time Ballon d'Or is considered to be a god. This fandom hit overdrive especially after Messi led Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy in Qatar.


So when fans heard about Messi, his wife and their children, being present at Don Julio restaurant in Palermo, Buenos Aires, they rushed to the place. Messi and his family were escorted from the restaurant by local police officers, but the 35-year-old still found to show appreciation to the fans for their undying support.

But this wasn’t the case in France, where fans were dejected with Paris Saint Germain's loss to Rennes in the Ligue 1 fixture at the Parc des Princes. The Parisians suffered a 2-0 defeat with goals from Karl Toko Ekambi and Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga helped their side to beat the defending champions at h. Paris stars like Messi and Kylian Mbappe had decent performances but failed to make an impact. 


Hence expressing their disappointment with the result, PSG fans were caught whistling and booing at the team after the result. But Paris Saint Germain manager Christophe Galtier defended his team and stated that the team doesn’t have many options after multiple injuries. 


He said, "You can’t incriminate my players on a lack of commitment. That’s not true. You can understand that when you’re 2-0 down to Rennes, that you don’t have a lot of options and that there are a lot of players missing, that there might be some resignation."
