In a series of friendly matches for  Argentina  before the much anticipated Copa America in June, they will be up against Costa Rica on March 26 in Los Angeles. The fixture was scheduled after the cancellation of Argentina’s China tour, planned before their Copa America campaign.

Apart from playing against Costa Rica, Lionel Scaloni’s side will also play friendlies against Ecuador on June 9 in Chicago and Guatemala on June 14 at FedEx Field, Maryland. The friendly match between Argentina and Costa Rica will be held on March 26 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.

The live streaming and broadcast details for the friendlies haven't been announced yet. The match will likely see the presence of the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi to resume his preparations ahead of the South American football tournament.

Argentina cancel tour to China

Argentina originally planned to tour China for friendlies against Nigeria in Hangzhou and Ivory Coast at Beijing from March 18-26. But the progress was halted owing to Lionel Messi’s omission from Inter Miami’s preseason game in Hong Kong.

It was reported that Messi opted out of the match against the local all-star team in Hong Kong due to the groin injury he was suffering. That resulted in the spectators who came to see the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
