Arsenal and Chelsea are set to lock horns in a spicy fixture on Sunday, March 16, in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in London. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke to the media ahead of his team’s match and spoke highly of his West-London opponents for the Sunday game. Arteta said that both the teams who are aggressive while pressing will look to have more of the ball during the match. He also said, “ A lot of individual quality on the pitch so it’s about imposing what you want and the direction that you want to take the game.” referring to the talented squads that both the teams possess.

Arsenal who are second on the table, 15 points below league leaders Liverpool, will look to win the match and keep the pressure on Liverpool for the PL title, although a title charge looks a little unrealistic considering the points gap. Chelsea on the other hand are fourth in the league table above defending champions Manchester City and will look to come away with a win in order to maintain their place in the Champions League qualifying spots.

Chelsea is being well anchored by new manager Enzo Maresca

The last fixture between the two sides in this Premier League season ended in a dismal 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge with goals scored by Gabriel Martinelli and Pedro Neto. However last season’s fixture between the London clubs had a staggering scoreline of 5-0 in the Gunners favour. Post that season Chelsea had a change in the management figure at the club after appointing Enzo Maresca as the new manager.

Maresca has had a good start to life at Stamford Bridge with 25 wins in the 42 matches that he has been in charge. His team recently progressed to the next round of the UEFA Conference League after defeating Copenhagen with an aggregate scoreline of 3-1.
