The 27-year-old Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres has been the main man for Sporting Club Portugal, leading them in Portuguese League win this season. He has scored a total of 97 goals in 102 appearances across the two seasons. He was the leading goal-scorer for the team in both their title winning seasons. However, ahead of the upcoming season Viktor Gyokeres has made it his priority to leave the Portuguese club and start another chapter in his life with another team.

Arsenal are reportedly confident on completing the deal for Viktor Gyokeres after they came to terms with Sporting CP over a transfer. They want to complete the signing by the end of this week and are reportedly scheduling the medical for the Swedish international. Gyokeres has already agreed to the personal terms and is very keen on joining the Gunners for the upcoming campaign. He is in a protest against his team as he has refused to train with Sporting CP and wants them to proceed on the deal with Arsenal.

Viktor Gyokeres could be the solution for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta

A major problem for Arsenal last season was not being able to convert all their chances into goals and adding a top finisher like Viktor Gyokeres to the team will make them tough contenders to win the league in the upcoming season. Gyokeres is considered as a prolific goal-scorer who fits the player profile for Mikel Arteta. Arsenal will be looking to overcome all the mistakes they have made in the past season which led them to finish runners-up consecutively for three years. They will be looking to become serious challengers for the title in the upcoming campaign.

Arsenal have started the ongoing summer transfer window on a strong note by making crucial signings. They have made the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Christian Norgaard from Brentford, and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. They are really looking to get over the line with Viktor Gyokeres which would almost complete their desired signings for the upcoming season.
