Arsenal are leading their North London rivals Tottenham in the race to sign Benjamin Sesko, the Slovenian striker, from RB Leipzig in the upcoming summer transfer window. It is understood that Arsenal have Benjamin Sesko as their prime target for the next season, in their bid to win the coveted Premier League title once again, and they are looking to fulfill the £58 million release clause in his contract with the German club, to bring him in.
Notably, as per Pete O’Rourke, the senior correspondent, who was speaking on the latest edition of the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Arsenal are one of the favourites to get Benjamin Sesko’s signature, especially when they have been working to sign him since last summer. In the ongoing Bundesliga season, the Slovenian has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 23 matches for RB Leipzig, which has allowed them to be in sixth spot in the league table.

Apart from that, Benjamin Sesko has scored four goals in eight UEFA Champions League (UCL) matches before RB Leipzig bowed out of the competition in group stages, while his three goals and one assist in three DFB-Pokal matches, allowed the club to reach the semi-final of the competition. Moreover, the current contract of Sesko with Leipzig is until 2029, but his release clause could end his tenure at the club much earlier.
Moreover, Arsenal tried to sign Benjamin Sesko during the January transfer window, but they were unable to get the deal to go through due to lack of urgency, even though their problem of lack of goals up front was well documented at the time due to key player injuries. As far as Tottenham are concerned, their chances of bringing in the Slovenian are comparatively lower even if they are able to meet his release clause with RB Leipzig.
