The Men in Blue will square off against immediate neighbours Nepal in their second Group A match in the tournament on Monday, September 4 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Nepal are currently at the bottom of Group A, whereas India are ranked just above Nepal, at second place.

India’s first game was supposed to be a high voltage thriller against arch-rivals Pakistan, but the rain gods decided to intervene, and the match was called off without a result. In the single innings that took place, there was a lot to learn for the Indians. The top order got exposed once again to the Pakistan pace attack. However, Ishan Kishan’s gritty, fighting knock under pressure was the highlight of the match. With some of the crucial players making comebacks after injury, India certainly looks like a daunting side if the top order manages to fire well.

On the other hand, Nepal have already made history by qualifying for the Asia Cup for the very first time. Although they did not have a particularly great outing in their previous match against Pakistan, which they lost by a considerable margin of 238 runs, they will have a lot to take back from this tournament.

Let’s narrow down all the relevant details of the match.
