On Wednesday, the India hockey team thrashed Pakistan in the last league match of the Men's Asian Champions Trophy 2023 in Chennai. With a 4-0 win against their neighbors, India finished the league stages at the top with 13 points in five matches and have also qualified for the semi-final, where they will face Japan.
After winning the game against Pakistan on August 9, India qualified for the semifinal against Japan that will take place on Friday, August 11. On the other hand, Pakistan have been eliminated from the tournament after losing against the hosts.
For India, skipper Harmanpreet Singh scored twice from penalty corners while Jugraj Singh scored another penalty corner in the third quarter to get his name on the scoresheet. Akashdeep Singh tapped in a ball from Mandeep in the final quarter to score the final goal of the game.
