The 12th season of the Asian Le Mans Series, the premier endurance racing championship in Asia, is going to be underway from December 2023 starting from Jakarta, Malaysia. The season will begin at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang on December 2, 2023, and end at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on February 11, 2024.
This will mark Sepang’s return to the calendar for the first time since February 2020 when it was the third round of the 2019-20 season – just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic. For the past three years, it has been conducted exclusively at venues in the UAE in a compressed format.
The races will feature a 48-car grid along with an extension of the season to five rounds for the first time since its inception in 2008. This season is the first of the joint venture between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, Asian Le Mans Endurance Management (ALMEM), and SRO Motorsports Group.
The ACO has also confirmed that both , the LMP2 and GT class champions will again earn a guaranteed invitation into next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in France. The Asian Le Mans series has a total of four classes: LMP2, LMPC, GTC, and GTC Am, very similar to the European Le Mans Series.
