Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the star guard of the Denver Nuggets, returned to his hometown of Greenville, Georgia over the weekend to celebrate his second NBA championship with his family, friends, and fans. The 30-year-old, who helped the Nuggets defeat Miami Heat in five games in the NBA Finals, was greeted with warmth as he entered the town.

The town installed a signboard that read, “Welcome to the city of Greenville, home of 2-time NBA Champion.” The shooting guard was then honored with a parade that featured a huge population of the town. He waved to the crowd through an open vehicle and expressed his gratitude and thanked them for their support and love. He also showed off his championship ring and trophy.

After the parade, he was welcomed by the mayor of Greenville, who presented him with a proclamation that declared August 5th as “KCP Day” in the town. She praised him for his achievements and his contributions to the town. 

Caldwell-Pope, who joined the Nuggets in 2022 after winning his first title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, averaged 10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in the 2022-23 season. He also shot 42.3 percent from three-point range and played stellar defense on some of the best players in the league. He is widely regarded as one of the best two-way players and one of the most clutch performers in the NBA.
