Cricket Australia has released its contract list for 2021-22 season. Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade and young gun Will Pucovski have missed out on the national contract. The upcoming season will prominently include the T20 World Cup in India and a home Ashes series against England. Seventeen players were handed contracts — down from the usual number of 20.

Head was dropped from the Test team during last summer’s series loss to India. He played the first two Tests against India last summer but was then left out after mustering just 62 runs across three innings. Delhi Capitals all-rounder Marcus Stoinis did not receive a CA contract despite being elevated to the national list last season after his recall to Australia's ODI and T20I team.

Openers Will Pucovski (who made his Test debut against India), Joe Burns, and Marcus Harris also did not find a place in the 17-man list.

Cameron Green only new addition to the contract list

Mitchell Marsh also missed out but promising all-rounder Cameron Green has been included in the list. Green is the only new addition to the contract list. He made his ODI and Test debuts against India last summer. He scored 236 runs at an average of 33.71 in the Border-Gavaskar series.

Cricket Australia men's contract list 2021-22:

Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Tim Paine, James Pattinson, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Adam Zampa.
