On Wednesday, June 4, Cricket Australia announced 16-member squad for the upcoming West Indies T20I series, which is scheduled to begin from July 19. The two sides are set to lock horns in five-match T20I series, with the first T20I set to be played on July 19 at the Sabina Park in Kingston in Jamaica.
In a notable move, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will return at helm for the side after plying his trade in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). It is to be noted that Marsh missed the Pakistan series and also missed the Champions Trophy for Australia due to a lower back injury.

While Marsh will return to action, Mitchell Owen earned his maiden call-up. Josh Hazlewood has also been named in the side after being rested earlier for the Pakistan series. Australia’s Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins, Travis Head and Mitchell Starc are key players who have been rested from the series whereas Matthew Kuhnemann makes the squad.
Chairman of Selectors George Bailey also opened up on eth squad selection as he was quoted as saying, "We have a busy T20 schedule coming up through this series, followed by three against South Africa and New Zealand and five matches against India at home as we continue to refine and build a squad we think will be the right fit for the World Cup on the subcontinent."
