The Australian cricket team is in great form as they recently clean swept the Test series against West Indies 3-0 away from home. They are now competing in the five-match T20I series with West Indies and have already taken the lead of 2-0, establishing themselves as clear favourites to win the series. On the other side, the England cricket team are competing with India in an intense five-match Test series which has seen some breath-taking play from both sets of players, increasing the thrill of the game. England are currently leading the series 2-1 and have marked themselves in good position to win the series.

Amid that, Australian Veteran Steve Smith is looking forward to the Ashes against England, which is set to begin from November 21 onwards. It is a historical Test series between two nations providing nail-biting finishes and complete entertainment for the fans most of the time.

However, keeping the Ashes in mind, Steve Smith made a remark stating that the Australian pitches will be a difficult challenge for the England batsmen. He further added that for the past 3-4 years, the Australian wickets have been very tricky for the batsmen apart from claiming that it will be difficult for England to get going on their home soil.

The Ashes this year is going to be an absolute belter: Steve Smith

In his interview with BBC Sport, Steve Smith also stated that the Ashes this year is going to be very thrilling and an absolute belter of a series.

He was quoted as saying, “Their batters are going to be challenged a little bit differently to the wickets they have had over in England for a while, which have looked pretty flat and good for batting. But it's going to be a wonderful series. I have been watching the India and England series and there has been some great cricket played there.”
