Indian all-rounder Axar Patel in a recent interview spoke about how he almost wore jersey with his wife’s name on it to an IPL match in Dubai. While talking on Delhi Capitals’ YouTube talk show, DC Cafe, Axar Patel and his wife Meha were discussing their life in and around cricket. The couple talked about their first meeting and many other things in this interesting chat.

Narrating one such incident, Axar Patel talked about how during the 2021 IPL in Dubai, he wore a jersey with his wife's name after completing a fielding session. After cleaning up, he took out the only shirt from his bag which felt a bit tight. Later he found it was his wife’s.
Patel said, “I had just come back from fielding in the scorching heat of Dubai… I was sweating profusely. After cleaning myself, I took out the only t-shirt left in my bag. The t-shirt felt too tight… I thought after all the gyming, my body has pumped up and the t-shirt doesn’t fit me anymore. I asked someone to check whose name was written on the back… they said it’s Meha’s jersey (laughs).”

The Delhi Captials are gearing up towards an important IPL season where they will be without their captain Rishabh Pant. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter will be out of the tournament after suffering a massive car accident. Hence replacing Pant, the Capitals have reportedly named Aussie batting star David Warner as their leader for the 2023 season.
