On Tuesday, March 4, Team India is taking on Australia in the first semi-final of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 at the DICS in Dubai. After the Australia captain, Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first, the Indian bowlers were on point as they sent Cooper Connolly back to the pavilion in the third over.

Thereafter, Travis Head, who has had a great record against India, was also dismissed after scoring 39 runs off 33 deliveries. While Head’s wicket seemed to be the most wanted wicket for the Indian fans and the players alike, in the 16th over, the Indian camp were handed some serious injury concerns.

Axar Patel falls on the ground midway through his over; gets checked by physio

Coming out to bowl his fourth over, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel suffered some fresh injury threat as he landed awkwardly. Patel, who went on to mark his run-up to bowl the fifth delivery of the over, unexpectedly fell and was seen clutching to his neck. While he seemed to have jerked his neck, the physio quickly ran into the field to check on the Indian all-rounder.

As he got the treatment, the umpires called in for a quick drinks break. However, Axar Patel looked alright and resumed the over from where he left. At the end of 16 over, AUstralia scorecard read 82/2 with marnus Labuchagne (10 off 19) and Steven Smith (27 off 35) in the middle.
