Aymeric Laporte, the Manchester City defender, tied the knot with his long-term partner Sara Botello in a glamorous wedding in Spain. The 28-year-old, who recently switched his international allegiance from France to Spain, got married in a lavish ceremony in Barcelona, where seemingly invited only two of his club teammates to his wedding - Rodri and Erling Haaland.

The Spanish midfielder and the Norwegian striker were seen posing with Laporte and his bride on social media. Haaland also brought his girlfriend Isabel Johansen to the event and was wearing a tailored navy blue suit and sunglasses. Laporte's decision to snub most of his City colleagues raised some eyebrows, as he has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

While other Man City players like Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake and Ilkay Gundogan were both spotted in Ibiza earlier this month, with the latter moving to Barcelona this summer. Goalkeeper Ederson has also been enjoying a holiday in Abu Dhabi. Laporte's wedding was attended by several other footballers, including former Athletic Bilbao teammate Iker Muniain.

Laporte and Botello have been together since 2016 and have a son named Lucay, who was born in 2022. The couple met when Laporte was playing for Bilbao and Botello was working as a dancer at the city's opera house. The centre-back has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, who prefers John Stones and Ruben Dias as his first-choice pairing. Laporte made only 12 Premier League appearances this season and is linked to a move outside the club.
