Battlegrounds Mobile India was banned in July 2022 among other China-origin apps and games concerning cyber safety issues. In a big update, the popular successor of PUBG is all set to return to India. The news of the same was confirmed by the creator of BGMI Krafton. It is said to be made available on the Play Store in India after being banned ten months ago.
Krafton executives haven’t provided a specific relaunch date, but according to various leaks, BGMI will be available to download on Apple App Store and Google Play Store from May 27, 5:30 pm IST. The game is back but with some restrictions as the Indian authorities have granted them to resume services for 90 days during which the authorities will observe their working closely.
The CEO of Krafton expressed his gratitude to the authorities for the unban and thanked their Indian gaming community for their patience. Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton, Inc. India said, “We are highly grateful to the Indian authorities for allowing us to resume operations of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). We would like to extend our gratitude to our Indian gaming community for their support and patience over the past few months. We are excited to announce that Battlegrounds Mobile India will be available for download soon and we cannot wait to welcome you back to our platform.” He further continued and said that the company wants India to become a vibrant gaming ecosystem.
