The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday constituted a three-member committee to look into the matter of India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha receiving threats and intimidation from a senior journalist. "The three-member committee comprises BCCI Vice-President Mr Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr Arun Singh Dhumal and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr Prabhtej Singh Bhatia," the BCCI said in a statement.

The BCCI further added that the committee would start the proceedings early next week. The Indian cricket board informed that taking cognizance of the matter, the apex body reached out to the wicket-keeper batter Saha and decided to constitute a three-member committee to investigate the matter. Most recently, Saha took to Twitter and expressed his gratitude towards everyone for backing him but also clarified that he "will never reveal the name of the journalists," which was widely demanded by the cricket fraternity. Taking to Twitter, Saha wrote, "My nature isn't that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone's career. So on the grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back."

Earlier, Saha shared the screenshots of the message received by an anonymous journalist who was threatening and intimidating the wicket-keeper for an exclusive interview. Saha, who has been recently dropped from the Test squad against Sri Lanka, poured his heart out after reportedly being conveyed by the top brass of BCCI management that they would be looking beyond him. Saha shared that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly assured him his space in the squad until he held the top position in his explosive revelations.

Notably, Ganguly had sent Saha a WhatsApp message after the Indian batter played a match-saving knock against New Zealand in a Test match in Kanpur. Adding further, Saha went on to reveal that India's head coach Rahul Dravid told him that team management has opted for a young wicket-keeper to groom he could consider retirement.

While Saha received a lot of backing for his controversy with anonymous journalists, some members of the cricket fraternity wonder whether the chat leaked by the stumper with the BCCI boss was an ideal thing to do. However, Dravid has taken Saha's revelation pretty positively and said that he wanted to be honest with a the Test cricketer and isn't hurt at all.
