The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Ethics Committee has directed MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, to file an official response in regard to the ongoing ₹15 Crore fraud case involving him by August 30. Rajesh Kumar Maurya, the resident of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, filed a formal complaint against MS Dhoni under Rule 39 of the BCCI Ethics Committee.

For the unversed, the complaint is in connection to the ongoing ₹15 Crore fraud case filed by MS Dhoni against Mihir Diwakar in the Ranchi Civil Court. Apart from Mihir Diwakar, the fraud charges are also levelled against Soumya Das and Aarka Sports Management Pvt Ltd for continuing to operate cricket academies under MS Dhoni’s name after their agreement with him ended in 2021.

Dayanand Singh, the lawyer of MS Dhoni, stated that his client also didn’t receive his agreed share of profits. As a result of the violation of the agreement, MS Dhoni incurred a loss of ₹15 Crore approx.

After Rajesh Kumar Maurya filed a formal complaint pertaining to the case against MS Dhoni, the BCCI Ethics Committee asked him to submit his official response by August 30. Furthermore, as per the report from DNA, Rajesh Kumar Maurya has got a September 16 deadline to submit his reply on MS Dhoni’s response to the format complaint.

Moreover, with the IPL 2025 mega auction fast approaching, MS Dhoni, 43, is expected to make a decision about whether he wants to continue playing for Chennai Super Kings.
