The Australia women's team kick-started the Women's T20 World Cup semi-final against India in dominant fashion. Beth Mooney was the star performer as she batted incredibly to score a crucial half-century. Hence, after her dismissal, the Indian team took a big sigh of relief.

This wicket was also important as Mooney was dropped earlier by Shafali Verma, who eventually took the catch to dismiss the batter. Hence, as the Aussie opener was walking back, Verma was seen blurting out some abusive words after completing the catch as she smashed the ball on the ground.

This catch didn't break Australia's momentum in the first innings, as captain Meg Lanning continued to attack the Indian bowlers. Lanning went on to score an important 49-run knock in just 34 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. This batting performance helped Australia post a total of 172 runs.

In the mid-innings interview, Beth Mooney talked about the Aussie batting effort. She stated the team is happy with the total and further praised Lanning her big-hitting knock in a pressure situation.

She said, "At the start of the day, we would have taken that (total). We weren't really too sure what the conditions would look like given it is a new wicket, but we are pretty happy with that and probably have to bowl well. She is hitting it nicely and threatening to do that for a little while, nice to see her hit a few at the end when we needed them."
