On Saturday, May 18, the Bengaluru City Police sent out a video on their official X account to reveal that they had detained a social media influencer by the name of Nitin Zequeira. The action from the police was taken after the influencer threatened to breach the security and invade the field at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the upcoming IPL 2024 clash between RCB and CSK.
Before Royal Challengers Bengaluru took on Chennai Super Kings at home, a video of the social media influencer, Nitin Zequeira, had posted a video on his Instagram account, promising the people that he would run across the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after hitting 50k followers on the platform. The influencer also talked about booking a ticket in one of the grandstands at the stadium, where he would be able to easily jump the barricade and invade the field.
After the video from the social media influencer went viral, the Bengaluru City Police took stock of the situation before revealing on X that they had detained him ahead of the RCB versus CSK clash in the IPL 2024. The video post from the Bengaluru City Police was captioned, “Nice try, Buddy! But attempting to breach security during #IPL is a guaranteed six straight into our custody. Sorry, mate, you're stumped! #RCBvsCSK #WeServeWeProtect”.
Moreover, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have a tough task of winning the match against Chennai Super Kings with a decent margin at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to reach the IPL 2024 playoffs. The three teams who have already assured of finishing in the top four in the points table are Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
