The 2023 Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) is currently being played. 32 teams from Round 2's first week proceed to Round 3. The remaining 64 teams will now take part in The Grind Round 2 Week 2 and 32 teams will advance to The Grind Round 3.
The Grind is the first stage of BGIS 2023, in which 256 chosen teams from the first season of the event will battle it out in two halves with 128 teams each across several weeks. The first week will feature the first 128 teams, and the second week will feature the second 128 teams. Each week, half of the teams will be eliminated as the competition proceeds. Only 64 teams will be left after week 5.

The Grind is a pre-Battlegrounds India Series exhibition game that is officially sanctioned and has a prize pool for invited teams. The invited teams are divided up into several groups and compete for the cash prizes.
This season, in addition to BGMI Tier 1 teams, underdog teams that performed well in the BGIS 2021 and proceeded to rounds 2, 3, and 4 were apparently also invited to The Grind.
