On Saturday, November 30, the first day of the two-day Pink Ball Warm-up match for the Indian cricket team against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra got washed out due to persistent rain. With that, the second and final day of the match between India and PM’s XI will feature a 50-overs a side game, which will begin at 2:40 PM local time on Sunday after both the teams have agreed to it.

Notably, as per the report from ESPNcricinfo, the steady drizzle at the Manuka Oval in Canberra began from 10 AM before it continued till 5:30 PM, and when it stopped, the ground staff did took the covers off, while the umpires briefed the support staff of both the teams. But, shortly after, the ground staff put the covers back onto the ground before leaving at 6:30 PM, which led to the play being called off for the day after heavy rain arrived.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are expected to feature in the Pink Ball Warm-up match

The 50-overs a side game tomorrow against PM’s XI will be the last competitive preparation for the Indian cricket team before they take on Australia in the Pink Ball Test match, the second game of the BGT series at the Adelaide Oval from December 6 onwards. After taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series with an emphatic 295-run win over Australia in the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the visitors will be confident about winning back-to-back games down under.

Meanwhile, India have been boosted by the return of their captain Rohit Sharma to the squad, who will be taking charge from vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah after the latter registered his first Test win as the skipper earlier this week. Shubman Gill has also hit the nets after recovering from a thumb injury, which kept him out of the first BGT Test, adding more depth to the Indian squad for the remainder of the series.
