She became a household name much before as she first created history when she brought home the silver at the 2020 (2021)Tokyo Paralympics. At the event, she reached the semi-finals after defeating Borislava Rankovic and won the silver medal after being defeated by Zhou Ying in the gold medal match.

She continued her incredible form at the Commonwealth Games, which took place the following year in Birmingham. In Birmingham, she swept Chirstina of Nigeria, winning 3-0. The 2020 Tokyo Paralympics silver medalist lost just one set on her way to winning the gold. Bhavina Patel shed a tear as the Indian anthem began to play as she stood on the podium to accept her gold medal. She has won numerous medals in the doubles category as well. The Government acknowledged her heroics and conferred the Arjuna Award to honour her in 2021.
