Match Details:

Date: January 2, 2023

Time: 1:45 PM IST

Venue: Bellerive Oval, Hobart

Ball-by-Ball commentary: SportsTiger App

Preview:

The 26th match of the season will bring yet another opportunity for the host to better their standings in the points table as they have currently slipped to the bottom. With just two wins and three defeats, Hobart Hurricanes need to bounce back.

Meanwhile, Adelaide Strikers suffered couple of straight defeats in their last fixture but with three wins in six games, they are well placed at fourth position in the points table. The upcoming fixture will be a high-stake game for both the sides as Hurricanes can’t afford any more defeats.

Pitch Report:

The surface at Bellervie Oval will provide lot of assistance to the batters and bowlers will have to make extra effort to make a mark.

Adelaide Strikers:

Peter Siddle-led Adelaide Strikers lost the previous game by just 8 runs despite decent batting effort from Adam Hose (56 off 41) and Henry Hunt (49 off 40). Chris Lynn and Rashid Khan too contributed with the bat, but the side could not win.

Wes Agar and Henry Thornton were the star performers with the bowl as they provided much-needed breakthroughs in the game. However, other bowlers need to stop leaking too many runs.

SportsTiger predicted XI:

Matthew Short, Henry Hunt, Chris Lynn, Adam Hose, Colin de Grandhomme, Thomas Kelly, Harry Nielsen (wk), Rashid Khan, Wes Agar, Henry Thornton, Peter Siddle (c)

Hobart Hurricane:

Matthew Wade-led Hobart Hurricanes have slipped to the bottom of the points table after back-to-back defeats. Despite four-wicket haul from Nathan Ellis, Hurricanes leaked 228 in 20 overs. Riley Meredith was the most expensive bowler in the squad as he conceded 49 runs in four overs.

In response, Mathew Wade and Tim David batted brilliantly but lack of supports from others costed the side heavily. Hurricane needs to buckle up if they want to stay relevant in the competition.

SportsTiger predicted XI:

D Arcy Short, Caleb Jewell, Shadab Khan, Matthew Wade (c & wk), Tim David, Asif Ali, James Neesham, Joel Paris, Nathan Ellis, Patrick Dooley, Riley Meredith
