The full schedule of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 season has been released wherein all the eight clubs will be playing in front of their home fans in the first eight days. The 14th edition of the BBL will kick off on Sunday, December 15, when Perth Scorchers, the most successful club in tournament history, host Melbourne Stars at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
As per the Cricket.com.au website, the BBL 2024-25 season will have 44 matches, including the Qualifier, the knockout, the Challenger, and the final, set to be played from December 15 to January 27. There will be uninterrupted cricket every night in Australia except for December 24 and 25, which will be the Christmas festival days.

There will also be six doubleheaders in the new season of the BBL, which will be available for Indian fans to enjoy on the Star Sports network channels and Disney+ Hotstar. Moreover, as far as the Australian broadcasting rights of the BBL 2024-25 are concerned, all the matches will be live on Foxtel and Kayo Sports, while the Seven Network and 7plus will provide 34 games live including the final.
There are only a few regulars in the Australian Test team with BBL deals, which include names like Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Marsh. If these players are not going to be a part of the five-match Test series against India, also known as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will also be played during the Australian summer, then they will be available to their respective BBL teams.
Meanwhile, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith, who have had long affiliations with their respective BBL clubs, could also return to play in the next season after the Test commitments for Australia.
