Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela will be seen in the inauguration ceremony of the 2025 Legend 90 League, to be held on February 6 in Raipur. Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, cricket fans will get a special dose of cricket through the competition which will take place from February 6 to February 17. The cricketing event will feature seven teams and renowned cricketing figures such as Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Dwayne Bravo, Ross Taylor, Suresh Raina, and Chris Gayle will be seen in action.
The competition will feature 21 league matches with two sides topping the points table competing in the final to be held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, Raipur on February 17. The league’s name indicates that each side will get 90 balls per innings. Talking about the rules, a couple of powerplays will be available for a batting side during the innings. The bowling powerplay will finish until the fourth over while the batting powerplay will emerge in the scene anytime after the 10th over. A bowling side is allowed to utilise five bowlers. However, there is also a relaxation for bowling sides as they can use one of their bowlers to bowl an extra over.
Retired icons to scintillate the stage
Avid cricket supporters will be elated to witness legends in the tournament as former India players Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and Yusuf Pathan will be seen holding the reins of Gladiators, Royals, Samp Army, and Warriors respectively. Discussing overseas names, former West Indies players Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo will captain Big Boys and Kings apiece. Shakib Al Hasan will be captaining Giants.
Prominent names Herschelle Gibbs, Ross Taylor, Ambati Rayudu, Tilakaratne Dilshan, Imran Tahir, and Moeen Ali will also register their presence for their respective sides. The Chris Gayle-led Kings will defend the title as the team lifted the trophy by beating the Yuvraj Singh-led Strikers in the previous edition of the tournament.
