Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has stated that the club will schedule talks with Jude Bellingham regarding his future after the FIFA World Cup. Bellingham has been an incredible talent for the Schwarzgelben and has been one of the top transfer targets for a number of big clubs in Europe.

Giants like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are all reportedly preparing massive bids for the Englishman. The Black and Yellows want to keep him in Germany beyond the end of the season, but Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that they cannot financially afford to compete with the really big clubs.

While speaking to BILD-TV on Sunday, the Borussia Dortmund CEO expressed that they will have this conversation with the midfielder and his family after the World Cup is over.

Watzke said, “I think as soon as Qatar is over. We will have a general discussion about what he actually wants. With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship. And of course with his advisor.”

“And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to leave. In both cases, we will have a very pleasant and reasonable discussion with each other. But we don’t have to pretend that the issue is not on the table. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can’t afford to have a fight financially,” he further continued.

Bellingham is having a breakout season with Borussia Dortmund and has established himself as one of the best young players in the world. He has netted nine goals and dished three assists in the 22 appearances so far this season.

The 19-year-old has more than two years left on his current contract and reports say that the Schwarzgelben will want a transfer fee of around 150 million euros if he decides to leave the club in the summer.
