Cricketers and Bollywood actors are considered the biggest influencers in India. They are always in the presence of media and cameras are always behind them. This is why celebrities show their best side and behaviour in front of the media and their fans. However, sometimes cameras manage to catch the other side of their personality and it can create a negative impact.

A similar incident happened in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where Afghanistan cricketer Mohammad Shahzad was spotted smoking on the ground while waiting for the game between Minister Dhaka and Comilla Victorians to begin as the rain had halted the start. The picture of Shehzad smoking soon went viral and people criticised the cricketer for setting a bad example.

BCB’s chief match referee and convener of the technical committee Rokibul Hasan expressed his disappointment on Shehzad's act and criticized the wicketkeeper.

“It contradicts the code of conduct. Smoking on the ground is strictly prohibited. It’s unacceptable. If he is not aware of this, the match officials should warn him,” Hasan was quoted as saying by Business Standard.

Shahzad was found guilty of breaching Article 2.20 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel and charged with one demerit point. The wicketkeeper-batter accepted the charges and hence formal hearing was not needed.
