The fourth test which took place in the Old Trafford Cricket Ground at Manchester left the England Captain Ben Stokes in complete frustration as England failed to capitalise against the Indian Cricket Team after taking two wickets for zero runs during the second innings of India. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul laid the foundation for team India by building a solid partnership holding their nerves against the bowling lineup. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar built upon their innings and played till their last breath earning a draw for India.
Both of the Indian all-rounders earned a well deserved century through their impressive batting performance and resilience to stay on the pitch and play deep into the innings. However, the Australian Veteran spinner Brad Hogg was not impressed by the bowling performance of the English all-rounder Harry Brooks towards the end of the Day 5, Hogg thought that Brook made it easy for Jadeja to get to his century. The 54-year-old Australian spinner shared his thoughts about the bowling of the English all-rounder through his youtube channel.
Harry Brook could do what Joe Root did and not allow the opposition player to get that easy hundred: Brad Hogg
The Australian spinner said, "The way that Brook bowled to Jadeja in that over allowed him to get that hundred, I wasn't too happy about that. He could do what Joe Root did and not allow the opposition player to get that easy hundred. Make him work for it, and if you make him work for it, you could have got him out.
Hogg further stated that he has great respect for Brook, he is a wonderful batsman but at that particular moment he should have done a bit better. The 58-year-old also credited Jadeja and Sundar for their resilience and stated that they deserved the reward of a century, especially Sundar who took the chance that came his way. India will hope to make a comeback in the fifth test to draw the series and put up a fierce display of cricket at the Oval to make it 2-2.
