The transfer saga in connection with Cameron international Bryan Mbeumo has taken another turn as Brentford have rejected the new improved offer worth up to £62.5 million made for him by Manchester United. It is understood that the Red Devils had made the bid of £55 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, but it was deemed less than what the Bees wanted for him despite the player’s interest in moving to Old Trafford.

Notably, it was earlier this June when Brentford had rejected the first bid of £45 million plus up to £10 million in add-ons from Manchester United for winger Bryan Mbeumo. The winger is on the top of the wishlist for club manager Ruben Amorim, to get the best out of his 3-4-3 formation, and for which, they have already acquired the services of winger Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million just a few weeks ago during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo with Thomas Frank angle

As per the report published in BBC Sport, the sources have pointed out that Brentford want at least the same valuation for Bryan Mbeumo compared to Matheus Cunha signed by Manchester United from Wolves earlier this month. There are also details around Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing the 25-year-old after their new manager Thomas Frank played an instrumental part in his rise during the Brentford job, which he mutually agreed to leave recently.

In the recently concluded 2024-25 season of the Premier League, Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided nine assists for Brentford, to help them finish in the top half of the table after being an integral part of their promotion journey to the top-flight a few seasons ago. Moreover, if he indeed signs with Manchester United this summer, then he is going to miss out on four weeks of football in the winter, to compete for Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations 2025-26 at the turn of the year.
