South African Women spoiled Indian Women's hopes of entering into the ICC Women's World Cup semi-finals after defeating Mithali Raj-led side in a thrilling contest by 3 wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur shined with bat and bowl as she caused three spectacular run-outs, picked two wickets and scored 48 in 57-balls in a must-win game. However, South Africa batters held the nerve and ensured victory for their side. Experienced batter Mignon Du Preez scored an unbeaten half century to lead her side to victory.
The loss meant India failed to qualify for the semi-finals as West Indies edged them in the points table by one point. Fans expressed their disappointment after Deepti Sharma claimed a wicket on a no-ball in the last over of the match, resulting in a free-hit. Australia, South Africa, England, West Indies qualified for the final four and will play in the semis.
