The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) showed a heartfelt gesture by exhibiting a tribute banner outside iconic Eden Gardens. CAB paid homage to spunk, dedication, and pliability of the distinguished Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. In the last few days, Indian armed forces did a phenomenal job during tensions with Pakistan. Following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, the armed forces were tasked to avenge the horrendous attack that claimed the lives of 26 men. Showing courage and determination, the Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor, which killed several terrorists based in Pakistan.
The banner’s message read, "Our Armed Forces are true heroes. Justice is Served! Jai Hind!" echoed the association's admiration for the nation's defenders.” Following the armed forces’ superb job against terrorism, Indian citizens are feeling proud as they have again been assured by brave soldiers that enemies of the country can’t go unpunished after doing mischievous acts against the nation and its residents.
Eden Gardens was scheduled to conduct IPL 2025 knockout games
Kolkata’s Eden Gardens was scheduled to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 knockout matches, Qualifier 2 and the final. However, the conflict between India and Pakistan halted the cash-rich tournament on May 8. BCCI suspended the competition for a week on May 9 but cricket buffs are now eagerly expecting the tournament to be resumed soon.
Answering the question regarding the restart of IPL 2025, CAB president Snehashish Ganguly said, "Nothing has been decided yet. BCCI will give the guidelines and further steps.” However, it will be crucial to know whether Kolkata will be given the chance to host the couple of crucial matches after the hiatus which has happened due to the military collision between the two South Asian countries.
