SA - 5 wins
NZ - 4 wins
AUS - 4 wins
AFG - 3 wins

Sri Lanka, at maximum, can have a total of five wins in the table if they can win all their remaining games.
If Sri Lanka wins all their remaining games, then teams like India, Bangladesh and New Zealand will lose one more game.
- Teams like Bangladesh and England have already lost more than four games in the ODI World Cup 2023. Hence, they will stand below Sri Lanka in the Points table.
- Teams like Pakistan and Netherlands should lose one more game in their schedule. Pakistan losing to England and Netherlands losing to India will help Sri Lanka's cause. Both Pakistan and Netherlands can end with a maximum of 4 wins in the table.
- Afghanistan should lose two more games in their remaining schedule. Afghanistan should lose two of their remaining games against sides like Netherlands and South Africa and defeat Australia alone to end up with 4 wins in the table.
- One among Australia (or) New Zealand should lose all their remaining games and can end with only four wins in the ODI World Cup 2023 points table.
If all the above-mentioned points happen, then Sri Lanka will finish above six other teams like Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, Netherlands, Afghanistan and New Zealand/Australia.
