As per various sources, Neymar is considering leaving the French Champions Paris Saint-Germain this summer, after understanding that the club are happy to part ways with him. Amidst these reports, rumours about Premier League club Chelsea emerging as a favourite to sign Neymar, with the club’s new owner Todd Boehly's desire to make a big statement in his first transfer market this summer.

Similarly, Neymar’s Brazil teammate and close friend Thiago Silva has expressed his wish of wanting to see the former Barcelona player joining him at Stamford Bridge. However, the big question arises of whether the club and its manager Thomas Tuchel are willing to recruit the 30-year-old.

Le Parisians had signed the Brazilian for a record €222 million from Barcelona in 2017 which had broken the footballing economics. The first reports about Neymar’s transfer were based on speculation about the Brazilian’s negative reaction to the comments made by PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The Qatari Businessman talked about how the club demands its players to improve after every season while giving 100% effort.

Al-Khelaifi said, “A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all players to do a lot more than last season, said the president of PSG. A lot more! They must all to be 100%. Obviously, we weren't good enough to go far.”

“For next season, the objective is clear: to work every day at 200%. To give everything we have for this shirt, give the maximum and we will see the result. We have to become humble again. We have to change to avoid injuries, suspensions and fouls that change a game.” However, the speculation also states that Neymar may not leave Paris this summer, with the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Neymar had penned a new contract with the French club 12 months ago, which guaranteed him an annual salary of €43 million gross without bonuses. The contract is five years long as a clause was reportedly triggered to extend it until 2027. Alongside Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United have shown interest in signing the Brazilian winger.
