
Gianluigi Donnarumma is an Italian international goalkeeper who plays for the French champions PSG. The 26-year-old joined the Parisian side from the Italian Giants AC Milan on a free transfer in July 2021. The Italian international has played a vital role in PSG winning the Ligue 1 title 4 times consecutively. Following his amazing performance in the previous campaign he was also shortlisted among the 30 nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’or. However, the Italian International’s future at PSG remains uncertain.
Several reports suggested that the FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea, have been looking for a goalkeeper in this summer transfer window and identified Gianluigi Donnarumma as a capable candidate. However, all such rumours have been quashed by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano as he suggests that there have been no active talks between Chelsea and Gianluigi Donnarumma over a potential signing this upcoming season. Chelsea are reportedly happy with the goalkeepers that they already have and are looking to build their core with them in plans.

The future of Donnarumma at PSG has recently become uncertain due to him reportedly not being the starter for PSG next season which has put a halt on his contract extension . Donnarumma was excluded from the PSG squad for the UEFA Super Cup following the arrival of new goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from LOSC Lille. Recent reports indicate that Donnarumma's current contract expires in June 2026, and a potential departure this summer or next cannot be ruled out.
Lucas Chevalier would be the starting goalkeeper for PSG to face Tottenham in the Super Cup. Donnarumma is unhappy with the way PSG are going about things. There is a huge interest from some of the Premier league clubs. However, there are no concrete reports available till now.
