The Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul invited two technical fouls in their game against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. The 38-year-old guard received his second technical with just 6.6 seconds left in the match. In his brief stay in the middle, Paul contributed effectively for the Golden State as he garnered 12 points in 25 minutes of action, where he also added six rebounds and four assists for the home side.
However, around the last 35 seconds mark, the veteran missed an open three from the weak corner following which he showcased a demeaning behavior to the game. As a result, he was handed the first tech with 22.6 seconds to go into the play. In the second one, he called out Brother of his authority for which he was ejected with 6.6 seconds left into the play.
After the game, Paul revealed the exact reason why he received the fouls in a presser. He revealed that he called the referee Tony Brothers a “TikToker” for which he received his first tech when the 30 seconds were left to the final buzzer. Further, he taunted him by saying “he has too much power”, for which he got the 2nd tech and eventually the ejection.
However, this is not the first time when the Golden State point guard has run into the referee this season. Earlier, he was indulged in a similar situation with Scott Foster for which he was ejected from the court on the spot.
Chris Paul posts referee Tony Brothers on his Instagram story
After his vocal run-in with the referee Tony Brothers in Friday’s game, Chris Paul took to Instagram and shared a video taking a jibe at Brothers. In the clip, Tony was seen where he was seen talking about basketball.
In the video clip, Brothers stated, “I don’t even really care too much for Basketball, But now I’m the judge, the jury. The prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, everybody.”
Through the clip, Paul seemingly hinted that referee Tony Brothers misused his authority as an NBA official in his decision to eject him from the game.
