The Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner reportedly offered a £650,000 settlement to a female employee to keep the sexual misconduct allegations hidden from the public. It has been revealed that the female employee had approached the Red Bull hierarchy in December 2023, accusing their Team Principal, Christian Horner, of sexually transgressive behaviour.
The Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf stated in their report that once the female employee shared the text message received by Christian Horner to the management, Red Bull hired an external lawyer to investigate the matter. The media outlet has access to those sexually oriented messages, which were sent regularly by Horner to the employee for quite some time.
Christian Horner’s lawyers allegedly offered a £650,000 ($816,510) settlement to the female employee t o keep the accusations under wraps . The reporter Erik van Haren posted about the matter on his X account, translated by Sportskeeda from Dutch to English, “Team boss Christian Horner of Red Bull Racing is accused of sexual misconduct, according to reports and documents...On February 3, lawyers for Brit (50) offered the reporter to settle for £650,000.”
Christian Horner has also publicly addressed the sexual misconduct allegations during the unveiling of their 2024 car, the RB20, during the launch event in Milton Keynes on Friday, February 16. He was quoted as saying to CNN, “I obviously deny fully the allegations that have been made against me. There’s an ongoing process, and that obviously is being worked through at the moment.”
