Boxing legend Christy Martin expressed her happiness with Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney’s casting in her biopic. Martin said that she is happy for Syndey’s performance in the movie, more so because the actress has a background in MMA and combat sports. Notably, the actress is famous for playing the role of Haley Emline Addario on Netflix’s ‘Everything Sucks’. David Michod will direct the biopic, and Mirrah Foulkes and Michod have written the script.
The former boxer and welterweight champion expressed how happy she is with Sweeney’s casting in her biopic. The 55-year-old told TMZ, "I think she is young, hot, talented, and about to make a movie that in 20+ years, fathers will watch with their daughters to make them aware of domestic violence."
She added, "I want this movie to bring awareness to domestic violence, the challenge of sexuality, and the overall underdog story. I am a coal miner's daughter from a small town in southern West Virginia that made an impact in a sport that wasn’t taken seriously -- women’s boxing."

I feel compelled to tell a story about a woman who faced so much adversity and didn’t allow it to defeat her. It’s powerful and emotional.”
Notably, the movie will show the emotional, physical, and financial abuse that Martin went through and how she made her way through it. The movie will show her rise her persona and the magic she created. Not only this, but the boxer also went through numerous struggles and toxic relationships, which would also be shown in the movie.
