The former Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni served as a terrific leader for the Indian team as well as the Chennai Super Kings. His popularity is second to none, and all age groups have been an admirer of him due to his leadership qualities and calmness to chase down the total in pressure situations.

Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022, Dhoni passed on the baton of CSK to the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, which stunned the cricket fans. However, the below video gives an idea about his popularity still remaining the same with the masses.

In the viral video, the Manipal Institute of Technology Udupi students are seen sitting at a hostel mess enjoying Match 7 of IPL 2022 between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. Most of the students are heard chanting ‘Dhoni Dhoni’ as he arrives at the crease in the 19th over of the CSK innings. The excitement doubled, as the former captain hit a six off the very first ball over the deep cover boundary and followed it up with a boundary on the next ball of Avesh Khan.

Dhoni hit a four in the last ball of the innings as well and finished with 16* off 6 balls. In total, Dhoni has accumulated a total of 66 runs in 2 matches and is the second-highest run-scorer in the team. In this process, he joined the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and his fellow CSK team-mate Robin Uthappa to cross the 7000-run mark in T20 cricket.

However, CSK could not secure a victory in the first league match and failed to defend the total of 210. The team certainly lacked a quality Indian pacer in the absence of Deepak Chahar, who is still recovering from the injury.
