But after this result, fans were quickly reminded of MS Dhoni, who was dismissed in the final over and could have played the final match of his cricketing career.
Ahead of this season, Dhoni stepped down as the CSK captain and brought on Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new skipper. Hence speculation about the 2024 season being the last for Dhoni was in full flow.
